ARE YOU READY FOR A NEW NAKED EYES SONG?:

It sounds like Pete Byrne has almost completed the new Naked Eyes cd titled "Piccadilly". He has a new song called "Ready" that a sample of is available to listen to here.

Blackroom have some new songs available to listen to on their Soundcloud page called "Control" and "Ecstasy". They sound okay but don't excite me like the material they did as Lorraine. They also seem to be playing live a bit more frequently these days, pity it is unlikely they will play any North American shows.

NEW 'BLACK ROOM' (LORRAINE) TRACK FEATURED ON MYSPACE VIDEO:

Black Room (formerly Lorraine) have added a few videos shot in the recording studio to their MySpace video section. Below is the clip that features a new song by the band. Would still like to see their fantastic 'Pop Noir' album get a worldwide cd release (it's on iTunes but only out in Japan right now as an actual physical cd, order it here.)

VARIOUS BITS AND PIECES:

Nice to see that "Black Room's" new album "Pop Noir" has been released on iTunes in North America with a physical release and some promotion happening in Japan (order physical cd from Japan here or here). As I mentioned before the band is playing in L.A. at The Viper Room on April 26th after a couple of shows in Japan, the gig appears to be part of the Musexpo 2009 event. (If anyone can point me in the direction of MP3's of any of the following Lorraine songs please email me: K-19, Ghosts, Confetti, and Tell Me Where You Wanna Go.)

I haven't commented yet on this season of American Idol (Season 8), for my money the final two should be Kris Allen and Matt Giraud. They have been consistent throughout the competition so far and I enjoy their performances the most. Danny Gokey is also pretty good but I'm not a fan of over the top screecher Adam Lambert.

Nice to see that Imogen Heap is finally getting to the stages of marketing and releasing her new solo cd, looking forward to this one a lot. She is looking for fans to help her write her new record company bio and other things, check out here latest 2 vblogs here and here for details. Really looking forward to her revamping her website also which is in dire need of an overhaul.

Really enjoying the new Pet Shop Boys album "Yes", the best material they've released in a long time. Also have to say "Love etc." was the best choice for first single, I love playing it in my new car cruising along the highway.

"BLACK ROOM" (FORMERLY "LORRAINE") HAVE APRIL GIG IN L.A.:

Norway's "Black Room" (synthpop band formerly known as 'Lorraine') have a gig at L.A.'s Viper Room listed on their MySpace page for April 26th, 2009. If I was still living in Vancouver I may have planned a trip down to see them but being on the East coast of Canada now I doubt I will travel that far. This a great chance for fans in North America to see them live. I do hope that their album "Pop Noir" gets released soon.

THE AMAZING "LORRAINE" ARE BACK AS "BLACK ROOM":

One of my favourite bands "Lorraine" are now going under the name "Black Room" and have a MySpace site up and running. Ole, Paal and Anders took the new name Black Room after the house they rehearsed in burned down to the ground. No dates for when their album "Pop Noir" will be getting released and no new music on the MySpace music player, hopefully we will get an update soon.

LORRAINE LOSES GEAR AND REHEARSAL SPACE IN FIRE:

Lorraine have suffered the lose of all their gear and rehearsal space in a fire, the picture above shows the remains of the building after the fire (this happened in early September). My best wishes go out to the band and hope that they can get back on track and release an amazing album which many people are waiting for. Blurb below is from their MySpace blog:

Will let the pictures speak for themself, but a hint, the big pile of ashes and rubbish, used to be Lorraine and dozens of other bands rehearsal rooms.. All our gear were in there:(

IMOGEN HEAP NEW TRACK FOR HEROES- VARIOUS BITS & PIECES:

Imogen Heap has a new video blog up on YouTube, number 12 in the series. The biggest news she talks about is that she's been asked to record a song for the soundtrack to the television series 'Heroes'. The song she wants to use sounds like it will also be on her next studio album, the track is called 'Not Now But Soon'. I think they used her song 'Hide & Seek' on early promo spots for the series.

I'm really enjoying the new cd by Danish band 'Private' called 'My Secret Lover'. The track 'Let's Make Love (Underneath The Appletree)' has a bit of a Human League feel to it and I love the track 'We Got Some Breaking Up To Do'.

Also enjoying the 'Metro Station' and 'Mighty Six Ninety' albums.

Good to hear that 'Lorraine' are still together and plan to release and album (finally) next year.

Several blogs have mentioned Australian band 'Grafton Primary', definitely worth checking out. Nick over at #1 Hits From Another Planet features the title track to their newly released EP.

I haven't gone to a movie in the theatres in a long time but went to see 'American Gangster' yesterday and it was pretty good.

I should be enjoying having gained an extra hour of sleep due to the time change but it appears some as#&ole has moved into the condo next to me and returned at 2:30 in the morning and decided to crank their stereo up and continue partying (they had done the same earlier but must have gone out for a few hours). I hope this doesn't become a regular annoyance (glad I'm only renting and can move out and that I didn't spend the going rate of $400,000.00 + for these units).
