ABC'S MARTIN FRY SINGS ON SONIC HUB SONG TITLED 'NEW MAN':






















Martin Fry is currently completing work on the new ABC album tentatively titled 'Traffic' and hopes to have it out in the next six months. When I saw him live last year the new tracks sounded great so I'm looking forward to getting a copy of the cd.

In the meantime you can hear Martin singing on a new song by U.K. band Sonic Hub called 'New Man'. Martin co-wrote the tune with the duo and all the lyrics and melody are his. There also appears to be a sample of Gary Numan's 'Cars' in the track. It is available on iTunes here in Canada, and as the band are new I'm not going to post the MP3 here, listen to a sample on iTunes and if you like it buy it and support the band.

Over at the Come Closer And See blog all 8 versions of the new Tracey Thorn single 'It's All True' (from the promo cd single) are available to download. Looking forward to the new album 'Out Of The Woods' due out in March.

KEANE COVERS THE CULT'S 'SHE SELLS SANCTUARY':








Over at the Torr Typepad blog the new Keane b-side cover of The Cult's hit 'She Sells Sanctuary' is available for download. I kind of like this cover, from the new single 'A Bad Dream'. Apparently the band also covers Depeche Mode's track 'Enjoy The Silence' on the USB-stick single version, hopefully that will show up on the net soon.

Over at Neiles Life blog he has three new Aqualung tracks from the forthcoming cd 'Memory Man' due out in March. They sound pretty good. I'm looking forward to the cd which includes the song 'Garden Of Love' that features guest vocals from Paul Buchanan from The Blue Nile.
I've seen the band twice live and the first time was a gig at The Drake Hotel and afterwards I literally felt I had just witnessed something magical. The second gig didn't reach that level but I would check them out again if the opportunity arose.














Over at pop tarts suck toasted blog there are three tracks from Field Music's new cd 'Tones of Town', a U.K. band getting a lot of buzz these days, worth checking out.

Here is an image that may or may not be the official cover for Jonatha Brooke's forthcoming cd 'Careful What You Wish For'. The CD contains 11 new songs, including 4 songs co-written with Eric Bazilian (The Hooters). You can download the title track on iTunes, the album is due April 3rd, 2007 through Ryko.

BLUE NILE CANCELS TOUR, TEITUR & PAOLO NUTINI TOUR NORTH AMERICA:





















Paolo Nutini


Well I just found out that The Blue Nile seem to have cancelled their North American tour coming up in February. No official word on their website, sad news indeed.

But today when looking into this matter I discovered that both Teitur and Paolo Nutini have concerts coming up in Toronto in the next couple of months which is great news. Below are their respective tour dates. Paolo's cd 'These Streets' is coming out in the U.S. on January 30th, it was released in Canada back in September. Nutini is also slated to make a number of major TV appearances in support of the cd, starting on January 30th with a visit to NBC's Today Show plus an appearance that evening on NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien

The song is titled 'Building Our Own Future' and was featured on some
podcasts late last year. It will probably be re-recorded and included on
Howard's next pop/rock record that will hopefully get released later this
year.
